Suggestion: Wisely use the time to pray that God will open and bless this week's Bible passage to your heart and to others. Bible Reading and Prayer should always go together.

THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT

Leviticus 19:18
Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.

Matthew 19:16-22
16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

Matthew 22:35-40
35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

PLEASE BOW YOUR HEART WITH US AS WE CLOSE THIS READING IN PRAYER...

Comments about this page: Bible Reading International reminds us that for most of history the Bible was read to people more than it was read by people. Those who could read were expected to read the Bible to those who could not. Recent history, however, sadly reveals a great decline in the public reading of the Bible.

It's good that more people can read than ever before but are they reading the Bible? The Bible says that "faith cometh by hearing" and yet many people hear very little of the Bible read aloud. I believe it is important to promote the public reading of the Bible, and I am thankful that the Lord has provided this means for us to do so.

Please tell others about this page and do what you can to promote the public reading of the scriptures. Here's our links to: Bible Reading International and AudioBible.com where you can read and hear the Bible being read at the same time. You can also find many Bible helps at: HeFirstLovedUs.com
